I am a PhD Candidate in Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, on the job market for the 2026–2027 academic year.
My research focuses on macroeconometrics, monetary policy, business cycles, and regional heterogeneity in macroeconomic responses. My current work studies measurement of the output gap and the regional transmission of monetary policy across U.S. states. Before the PhD I spent six years as an economist at the State Bank of Pakistan, first in currency operations and then in development finance, where I led the Asian Development Bank National Financial Literacy Program. I came to UWM on a Fulbright.
